Cooking Details
19 Pound Turkey
Baked at 355 Degrees for 4 1/2 Hours
Uncover turkey and continue to bake for 35 to 40 Minutes
To achieve a golden looking Turkey, turn broil Hi and keep a close watch as it gets to the desired golden skin
Tip‼️
* Turkey is fully cooked when internal temp reaches 164 degrees (F)
* Insert the thermometer in between the turkey leg and the turkey breast for best temp results. Don’t confuse the stuffing as the turkey temperature : )
*Follow suggested cooking time listed on the turkey package and roast and additional 35 minutes to achieve a golden roast.
*The oven used this year is a regular oven. If you have a BROIL tray at the bottom. Not to worry! Place oven on 500 degrees (F) keep Turkey in the exact location in the oven and you will produce enough heat to roast your turkey to perfection.
* You can achieve a faster roast by adding extra butter to the skin of the turkey before you broil. I skipped it for his recipe and broiled it for 35 minutes
* Take your turkey out of the freezer 3 days prior to cooking. Place it in your refrigerator go thaw out

Christmas dinner
Christmas dinner is a meal traditionally eaten at Christmas. This meal can take place any time from the evening of Christmas Eve to the evening of Christmas Day itself. The meals are often particularly rich and substantial, in the tradition of the Christian feast day celebration, and form a significant part of gatherings held to celebrate the arrival of Christmastide. In many cases, there is a ritual element to the meal-related to the religious celebration, such as the saying of grace.
The actual meal consumed varies in different parts of the world with regional cuisines and local traditions. In many parts of the world, particularly former British colonies, the meal shares some connection with the English Christmas dinner involving roasted meats and pudding of some description. The Christmas pudding and Christmas cake evolved from this tradition.
In countries without a lengthy Christian tradition, the Christmas meal may be more heavily influenced by popular culture. An example of this is Japan, where a KFC order is traditionally consumed.
The turkey appeared on Christmas tables in England in the 16th century, and popular history tells of King Henry VIII being the first English monarch to have turkey for Christmas. The 16th-century farmer Thomas Tusser noted that by 1573 turkeys were commonly served at English Christmas dinners.
Christmas games
Ring the reindeer antlers
Think of this game like the holiday version of ring toss. Pick up a reindeer antler headband or make your own if you’re feeling crafty. Twist red and white pipe cleaners together to make candy cane-striped rings. One person puts on the headband, while the rest try to hook the rings onto the antlers.
Christmas dance freeze
Turn rockin’ around the Christmas tree into a competition by holding a holiday dance-off. Turn on the music and get groovin’, then shut it off without warning and shout, “freeze!” Whoever stops moving last is out. You’ll get the giggles, guaranteed.
Oven mitts game
Opening Christmas gifts while wearing oven mitts is just as hard (and hilarious) as you think. As an added perk, giving unwrapping an element of difficulty will make everyone slow down and savour the moment when opening presents on Christmas morning — not to mention result in some really fun photos.
